Peter Tinti is a writer, researcher, and photographer covering conflict, security, human rights, and organized crime, with a particular focus on the Sahel, West Africa, and Latin America.

Among other outlets, Tinti’s writing, photography, and analysis has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Foreign Policy, and World Politics Review.

Tinti is currently a Lecturer at the Committee on International Relations, University of Chicago and conducts research for a variety of international organizations, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations.

He is the author, with Tuesday Reitano, of Migrant, Refugee, Smuggler, Savior  and was part of the team for Foreign Policy awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Book and Journalism Award, New Media category.
